Build clear audio file names

Create consistent names from project, key, BPM, and version details.

File Prep

Change the settings, check the result in your browser, and export only what you need.

Prepare the filename and metadata in one place. MP3/WAV metadata is written locally; other formats are safely renamed. The file is never uploaded.

Usage notes

Name audio exports and write metadata without losing control

The file namer creates consistent export names from project, artist, genre, key, BPM and version fields. When automatic analysis is enabled, it can read tempo and key estimates first, then use those values in the filename and supported metadata output.

How to use it

  1. Upload an audio file and choose whether BPM/key should be detected automatically.
  2. Review every detected value before applying it to the output name or metadata.
  3. Export the renamed file; unsupported formats are renamed safely without pretending to convert the audio.

Accuracy and confidence note

Automatic BPM and key values are estimates. The checkbox keeps this optional so users who already know the correct values can enter them manually. Always verify key and tempo before sending files to stores, labels or distributors.

File privacy

Metadata editing is performed locally. The file content is not sent to VibeDowns servers for naming, BPM or key detection.
